Several rockets were fired at different areas of the Afghan capital Kabul, injuring 10 people. The attack also damaged Kabul’s diplomatic district and the area was locked down by security forces.
“14 rockets were fired from two vehicles at Kabul. Two people have been detained since the incident,” Afghan Interior Ministry spokesman Tariq Aryan told Reuters.
According to an Afghan spokesman, most of the rockets landed on residential houses, injuring 10 people, including four children. As a result of the rocket attacks, embassy employees took refuge in safe rooms and the entire area was locked down.
The perpetrators could not be identified immediately after the incident. It is to be noted that this attack has been carried out at a time when preparations for the Afghan Independence Day are in full swing and events are being held.
